Rathin’s work has focused on interventions in urban spaces, aiming to redefine modern environments both visually and conceptually. Through sculptures, drawings, and placements of objects, he highlights the subtle sense of helplessness within the urban fabric, situated between reality and illusion. Viewing the city as a political phenomenon reflecting various ideologies, his work delves into architecture, urban sprawl, development, and human behavior.
Rathin’s solo exhibitions include “No…I Remember It Well” at Experimenter, Kolkata, and “A Goldfish Bowl” at Gallery SKE, Bangalore. He has participated in group exhibitions like “Midnight’s Grandchildren” at Studio X, Mumbai, and “Land of No Horizon” at Nature Morte, New Delhi. His work has been featured in international events such as the Vancouver Biennale Residency and the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
His art is part of prestigious collections including the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and the Devi Art Foundation in New Delhi, and the Coimbatore Center for Contemporary Art among others.
