Description

This mosaic was constructed to beautify downtown and bring the community closer together. It was created by a group of 15 students, who asked businesses, organizations, families, and individuals to buy the mosaic squares as donations to help build the project. Along with the help of local artists, the youth created images that represented each group. Thousands of small ceramic tiles pieces have been used to create images of the mountains, animals, climbers and other local scenes. Blue = social groups; green = families; yellow = governments; orange = businesses; red = individuals.

Glen Andersen is a freelance designer and builder who specializes in temporary installations, sculptures, and pebble mosaics. He usually works with community organizations and frequently collaborates with other artists and designers. He has a special interest in pedestrian-scale art works.
