Description

This mural on plywood was created for the 2021 Mural Walk. It depicts different colourful designs relating to the environment, planet and climate change, including a planet in a chain with tears, a drooping flower, a flaming tree with an eye, a cloud and lightning, a red mountain, and the words “Prioritize the Planet”.

Artist Statement

The design includes a collection of illustrations to relay a powerful message to the public pertaining to one of the biggest global issues today. The weeping planet earth, dying flower and tree in flames symbolize the urgent need of climate change action while existing alongside the beautiful and grand natural elements of Squamish and British Columbia.”

Olivia is a mural artist, illustrator, designer, textile artist and painter. Her artwork reflects her interests in culture, history, and landscapes, incorporating graphic illustrative components, specific colour palettes, and intricate line work. Olivia’s paintings tell stories by blending pop art-like graphics with textures for balance and flow. She explores various mediums, from murals and installations to digital designs, aiming to break boundaries in her artistic practice.
