Artist Statement

Presenting “Mother of Wind”: my first step into the muraling world was 100% the biggest painting project I’ve taken on. Challenging, fun, and inspired by the Squamish winds that help keep us cool in the sun.”

Andi has been drawing and creating art since she could pick up a crayon and has never looked back. Her love of cartoons, comic books and graphic novels had her sights set on pursuing a career in the arts after graduation, and a brief stint in art school soon subsided in favour of a tattoo apprenticeship. She has now been tattooing for 18 years and co-owned her own studio for the last 6. Her passion for sequential story telling has never wavered, however; most of her fine and digital art is still directly influenced by illustrative and comic book art, as well as classic literature and mythology. Andi resides in Squamish, BC with her husband, dog and cat, who offer never-ending inspiration and support.
