Chief Dale was born and raised in Squamish. He is one of sixteen Hereditary Chiefs of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw.
This is a carving that was originally installed by the substation and was moved to its current location, mounted in front of the BC Hydro offices. It features an eagle, raven, human, and a circle to represent the sun and moon, and it was carved to represent the environment and clean energy.

His craftsmanship has earned accolades including the Georgie Award in 2002 and the Arthur G. Hayden Medal at the 31st Annual International Bridge Conference Awards.
