Artist Statement

From my Parallel Universe Series, ‘A Sea of Kayaks’ reflects nature, recreation, oceanfront and the changing of the seasons in amongst our local colourful and diverse landscape. This design connects activity with our natural surroundings from forest to ocean, our sacred waters providing with a multitude of water sports — here specifically kayaking. I have incorporated visual realism adjacent with graphically coloured kayaks symbolizing stripes. This juxtaposition characterizes a simplified form of natural visual complexity – a parallel universe, a uniquely Squamish Universe!”
