Artist Statement

A head in the clouds, this piece offers some perspectives of the layers of earth and sky, represented in the design on the face of the figure.

David Camisa (He/Him) is a British-Canadian artist, illustrator, and muralist based on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver, BC).

With over a decade of experience as a professional artist, David’s work has been featured in exhibitions across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan. His dynamic practice blends fine art, illustration, and large-scale mural projects. Notable commissions include murals for the Edmonton Mural Festival, the Vancouver Mural Festival, and the Vancouver Queer Arts Festival, alongside collaborations with brands like Wrappr, Collective Arts Brewing, and THIS Magazine.

Proudly a part of the Queer community, David’s work is driven by the belief that art should be an inclusive space for all. Through surreal, dreamlike imagery, he creates worlds where diversity is celebrated, inviting people of all identities to see themselves reflected in the ethereal, vibrant characters depicted in each piece.
